Low Tide at Garrapata Study

This is a small study for a large triptych that was sold and can be found in my painting archives by the same name minus "Study".  It was done on three 10" x 8" linen boards to be used as a guide for the larger studio painting done in full triptych style.  I do these studies to avoid doing a lot of work on the large triptychs and finding out at the end that I do not like the result.  The small studies take hours while the large triptychs take a few weeks.  If I'm not satisfied with the small study I stop there or try again for a better outcome!

This study, which consists of three substrates, is framed as one painting in a quality gallery walnut colored wood frame.
