Mother Of The Forest

This is a plein air painting created from the view and a small study made right before I painted this larger plein air piece in the Great Basin Redwood Forest near Santa Cruz, CA.  The painting received a number of accolades from the Redwood Forest Foundation's National Show including a Top Fifty rating and selection as the cover image for the foundations annual report the following year!
