Fall Color Hwy 88/89

This is a plein air painting done the first week of October in the Hope Valley area of the Sierra Nevada mountains south of Lake Tahoe.  It was painted early in the morning as the sun crested the mountains to the east just east of the Highway 88 and 89 junction.  Hope Valley has some beautiful fall color areas with this one nearly across the street from Sorenson's Resort.  I painted two paintings that morning.  This one and one about a mile away entitled Distant Color.
